About F1 Index
F1 Index is a technical reference for the Formula 1 season — standings, results, and the numbers behind them, kept current and held to a standard. It's built to be looked up quickly, not read as a story.
What's here
Drivers and constructors standings, updated after every session. A full calendar with practice, qualifying, and race classifications for every round, plus a profile for every circuit on it — length, layout, and lap record.
A power-unit and gearbox tracker that shows how much allocation margin each driver has left before a grid penalty becomes mathematically unavoidable, and a championship permutations page working out who can still win each title and who's already out of contention.
A head-to-head tool for comparing any two drivers' qualifying and race record round by round, and a season archive of every World Champion, driver and constructor, back to 1950.
How the data is sourced and checked
Every result on this site is attributed to a specific source — usually official classification documents, Wikipedia's per-race articles, or established motorsport outlets — never invented or guessed. Numbers are cross-checked against a second, independently-dated source before publishing wherever there's any ambiguity, specifically because a single search result or summary can be wrong: this project has caught and corrected a corrupted lap time, a search summary that blended in an unrelated racing series sharing the same circuit that weekend, and a grid penalty that was missing from the record entirely, each time by going back to a primary source (an FIA classification document, in one case) rather than trusting the first answer.
Practice, qualifying, and race data is refreshed automatically as each session finishes during a race weekend, with a daily check the rest of the time for penalty and calendar changes. When a mistake is found after the fact, it's corrected and noted, not quietly overwritten.
Independence
F1 Index is an independent, unofficial reference and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Formula 1, the FIA, Liberty Media, or any team, driver, or circuit named on this site. Team and driver names are used for identification only. This site carries advertising to cover its running costs.
